Russian gas giant OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) experienced a pickup in demand for natural gas in Western Europe during the second quarter, the company's Deputy Chief Executive Alexander Ananenkov said Tuesday.
Gazprom, the world's biggest producer of natural gas, has been forced to lower output this year due to weak domestic demand and in its key European export market.
Gazprom supplies a quarter of Europe's gas needs.
