Saipem Gets $600M New Contracts In Kazakstan, Congo, Algeria

Italian oil-services company Saipem SpA (SPM.MI) Wednesday said it won drilling contracts worth around $600 million for six onshore rigs in Kazakhstan, Congo and Algeria.
Italian oil-services company Saipem SpA (SPM.MI) Wednesday said it won drilling contracts worth around $600 million for six onshore rigs in Kazakhstan, Congo and Algeria.

The largest contract is in Kazakhstan for the drilling of two units in the Kashagan oil field in the north Caspian Sea, the company said in a statement.

Drilling in the Kashagan field is expected to begin by the first quarter of 2011 and continue for about five-and-a-half years for each unit.
