Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said Friday that his government will announce its decision on whether to approve or cancel a tender to build the country's first nuclear power plant, between Nov. 20 and 24, the Ihlas News Agency, or IHA, reported.

A consortium led by Atomstroyexport, Russia's state nuclear giant, was the only bidder in the tender last year. Russian Inter RAO and Turkish Park Teknik are the other members of the consortium.

The Turkish government is unhappy with the financial terms and it is yet to decide whether to go ahead.

The project, estimated to cost around $21 billion, envisages the construction of four nuclear reactors with a total capacity of 4,800-megawatts at Akkuyu, in the Mediterranean province of Mersin.
