Russia, Serbia sign bilateral agreements after Belgrade summit

Russia and Serbia signed a number of cooperation agreements after Tuesday negotiations of Presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Boris Tadic. For instance, Gazprom and Srbijagas signed agreements on the Serbian segment of the South Stream pipeline and the joint venture managing the Banatski Dvor underground gas storage site.
Russia and Serbia signed a number of cooperation agreements after Tuesday negotiations of Presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Boris Tadic. For instance, Gazprom and Srbijagas signed agreements on the Serbian segment of the South Stream pipeline and the joint venture managing the Banatski Dvor underground gas storage site.

The joint venture, South Stream Serbia, will be set up within 30 days to design, build and operate the Serbian segment of the pipeline. Gazprom will have 51% in the joint venture, and the rest will belong to Srbijagas.

The Banatski Dvor agreement defines terms of the establishment and operation of the joint venture, which will build and operate the underground gas storage of 450 million cubic meters. The distribution of stock will be the same.

Besides, Russia and Serbia signed agreements on cooperation in the humanitarian relief of emergency situations, on cooperation between the two foreign ministries and on parliamentary contacts.

They set forth a program of intergovernmental cooperation in culture, education, sports and youth affairs in 2009-2011 and a memorandum on trade and economic cooperation between the Kursk regional authorities and the Serbian Economy and Regional Development Ministry.
