The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries has invited Russia to attend its December meeting in Angola, the country's Deputy Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko said Tuesday.
"The Russia delegation has received an official invitation to take part," Shmatko told journalists at an energy conference in Moscow.
Shmatko also said Russia and OPEC plan to hold a separate joint meeting before the end of the year to discuss a memorandum of understanding proposed by Moscow.
