Russian oil producer OAO Lukoil Holdings (LKOH.RS) isn't at risk of losing the license to its Central field on the Caspian Sea shelf, Interfax reports Tuesday.
Deputy Natural Affairs Minister Sergei Donskoy told journalists that from his point of view, there is "no risk" of Lukoil losing the license, adding that the topic is still being discussed, the news agency reports.
The Kommersant newspaper said Monday that Lukoil might lose two Caspian shelf licenses because of new Russian legislation restricting private companies' activities in such strategic areas.
