Energy investments by the private sector are expected to exceed 6.7 billion Turkish lira ($4.5 billion) in 2009 up from TRY4.8 billion last year, the head of Turkey's energy watchdog EPDK said Wednesday, the Ihlas News Agency, or IHA, reported.
Speaking at a conference, Hasan Koktas also said that EPDK has received 687 applications to build new wind power stations in Turkey.
