The European Commission Wednesday said countries in the European Union have an "overall good level of preparedness" to deal with a potential natural gas crisis.
The commission, which chaired a meeting of EU gas experts Wednesday, noted that almost all of the bloc's 27 member countries have full storage levels and short-term commercial agreements to handle a possible winter crisis.
Disputes between Russia and Ukraine have interrupted gas supplies to the EU twice over the past three years.
