Belarus has threatened to cut the supply of electricity via its territory to the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, the BBC reports on its Web site Monday, citing Belenergo, Belarus' state power firm.

Belenergo is quoted as saying that Russia was delivering electricity to the territory in the absence of an agreement on transit fees. "This compels the Belarusian side to think of cutting the unauthorized commercial transit of electricity," it said in a statement.

The two countries are also locked in a dispute over oil supplies after failing to sign an agreement for 2010 by the end of 2009.
