Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) has agreed with Qatar Petroleum (QP.YY) to develop a petrochemical complex fueled by a giant natural-gas field off Qatar's Persian Gulf coast.

The companies anticipate the facility opening in late 2015. It would include
what they called the world's largest steam cracker and polyethylene plant and
one of the world's biggest ethylene and glycol plants.
Exxon has helped Qatar Petroleum develop the North Field over the past decade
and export natural gas from it in liquified form.
Shares of Exxon Mobil closed Tuesday at $69.42 and were down 2 cents premarket.
