The Gas Coordination Group, the European body in charge of monitoring gas
supplies within the 27-country bloc, met Tuesday to assess the situation in the
wake of the particularly harsh weather that has hit EU countries this winter,
the commission said.
Europe
wants to make sure it is ready to face any danger
of supply cuts from outside the EU, after a dispute between
Ukraine
and
Russia
crippled gas supplies for weeks a year ago.
