Russia produced an average of 10.04 million barrels a day of crude oil and gas condensate in January, down 0.1% from December, statistics from the Energy Ministry showed Tuesday.
The country produced 42.473 million metric tons of crude oil in January.
Russia's oil exports fell 2.4% in the month from January last year to 20.484 million tons, the Energy Ministry said.
Last year, Russia increased oil production by 1.2% compared with the year before to 494.23 million tons, or 9.925 million barrels a day.
Natural gas production rose 16.2% in January to 63.95 billion cubic meters. Gas exports more than doubled to 20.03 billion cubic meters, due to a two-week shutoff of supplies to Europe in January 2009.
