Putin made the announcement as he met his Ukrainian counterpart Mykola Azarov.
"We discussed integration in the nuclear industry, the same could be done
in the gas industry, and I propose to merge Gazprom and Naftogaz", Putin
said as quoted by the agency.
According to the agency, Gazprom Chief Executive Alexei Miller said the
companies will discuss the possible merger after the "May holidays,"
