Eni SpA's (E) Chief Executive Paolo Scaroni said Monday he hopes the
"first flux" of natural gas from Libyan pipeline Greenstream will
resume in October.
"From a technical point of view is doable. But if security risks arise,
we'll change our minds," Scaroni said on the sidelines of a company event
here.
Officials from the Italian government and Eni have repeatedly said the
resumption of Greenstream is critical in light of the coming winter months. Greenstream
accounts for 10% of Italy's natural gas. It feeds fuel from the Wafa field, in
which Eni is joint operator with the Libyan National Oil Co.
