Asia holds potential as a
growth market for natural gas, the deputy chairman of Russian giant Gazprom's management committee
said, the Nikkei reported in its Wednesday morning edition.
At a business forum in Tokyo, Alexander Medvedev
stressed that Gazprom is ready to cooperate on
energy with Japan, South Korea, China and other regional
players.
Among other speakers at the event organized by Nikkei Inc., IMD and the Japan
Center for Economic Research, Seven & i Holdings Co. (3382.TO) Chairman
Toshifumi Suzuki sounded keen on growing the retail group's online supermarket
business, saying, "Whoever controls the Internet will control
retail."
Mori Building Co. President Shingo Tsuji expressed alarm about Tokyo's declining international
status and says the company hopes to contribute to its revival as a global city.
