Norwegian energy company Statoil ASA (STO, STL.OS) plans to borrow $1.5 billion in a three-part issue in the U.S. debt markets Wednesday, according to a person familiar with the deal.

The issue of senior unsecured notes features five-, 10-, and 30-year
maturities, guaranteed by Statoil Petroleum ASA.
Lead underwriters are Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank AG(DBK.XE,
DB), and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. (JPM). The proceeds are being used for
general corporate purposes.
The deal is expected to be rated Aa2 by Moody's Investors Service and AA-minus
by Standard & Poor's.
