The 17,000 companies in question each consume at least 10,000 tons of standard
coal annually, and together accounted for more than 60% of
China
's
total energy consumption last year, the NDRC said in a statement.
China
consumed 3.25 billion tons of standard coal in 2010, up 5.9% from 2009,
according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
