Russia state gas giant OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) and top independent producer OAO Novatek (NVTK.RS) Friday discussed the possibility of joint projects to increase production of liquefied natural gas in the country's northern Yamal peninsula.

projects to increase production of liquefied natural gas in the country's
northern Yamal peninsula.
Gazprom head Alexei Miller and Novatek boss Leonid Mikhelson met for talks
about joint development of new fields in the northern part of the Yamal
peninsula, Novatek said in a statement.
Novatek is already planning to build an LNG plant on the Yamal peninsula in
corporation with
France
's
Total SA (TOT).
The two also considering jointly developing hydrocarbons in the Gydan peninsula
located east of Yamal.
