Bulgaria's state-owned gas utility Bulgargaz said on Thursday it has
signed a framework agreement with its Greek counterpart DEPA on mutual
assistance in the event of natural gas shortages in either of the two countries
resulting from extraordinary conditions.
The framework agreement envisages common reaction to natural gas
shortages, as the specific parametres are to be specified further, Bulgargaz
said without elaborating.
Under the agreement, DEPA will supply natural gas to the Bulgarian
network provided that smooth supplies to the Greek market are not upset, the
Athens News Agency has reported.
DEPA and Bulgargaz are partners in the construction of Greece-Bulgaria
(IGB) pipeline which is expected to start in the last quarter of this
year.
