Italy's Eni SpA (E) said Thursday it has reached an agreement on gas supply contracts with Russian state gas firm OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) and discussed with its Russia partner actions for the implementation of the South Stream project.

"The agreement on the revision of the price of the gas supply contracts
represents an important step in the 40-year long strategic partnership between
Gazprom and Eni," the Italian company said, without elaborating further on
the price.
The two parties also discussed the execution of the detailed plan for the
commencement of construction of the South Stream gas pipeline by December 2012.
They noted that the project is being implemented "in strict accordance
with the approved schedule."
