The production of electricity in Albania decreased by 47.4% in 2011 compared to the previous year, according to Albania’s Institute of Statistics.
The drop by 48.1% of electrical energy produced by hydropower plants contributed to the halving of the production of electrical energy in Albania. Private hydropower plants also registered a drop of 14% in terms of electrical energy produced, daily Standard reports.
