Russia's Gazprom will cut by some 11% the price of gas deliveries to Bulgaria.

Russia's Gazprom will cut by some 11% the price of gas deliveries to Bulgaria.

The new tariff will enter into force on April 1, the state-run Bulgarian National Television (BNT) reported on Friday, quoting energy minister Delyan Dobrev as saying after a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Shmatko and the Gazprom management in Moscow.

However, the decrease in the price of Russian gas deliveries may be calculated in households' gas bills in the third quarter of the year at the earliest. Meanwhile, Bulgaria's energy regulator decided to raise gas by some 13% as of April 1 the price of gas for end-consumers.

Bulgaria imports almost all the natural gas it needs from Russia through a pipeline crossing the territories of Ukraine, Moldova and Romania.
