Azerbaijan plans to increase its natural gas production to 30 billion cubic meters in 2015 from 25.7 billion cubic meters last year, the head of state oil and gas company Socar, Rovnaq Abdullayev, said Tuesday.

Azerbaijan
could
become an important source of gas for
Europe
, when
the second phase of the huge Shah Deniz project in the
Caspian
Sea
comes on stream in 2016.
The country's production may rise to 50 billion cubic meters a year in 2025, he
said.
