China Southern Power Grid Co., a state-run power transmission and distribution company, could see a power shortage of 13 gigawatts this year due to potential drought and coal supply issues, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission said Friday.
China Southern Power Grid Co., a state-run power transmission and distribution company, could see a power shortage of 13 gigawatts this year due to potential drought and coal supply issues, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission said Friday.

Since April 5, the Jiangxi Electric Power Co., a unit of state-run State Grid Corporation of
China , has been transmitting 300 megawatts a day to China Southern to ease shortages, it said.

China Southern serves the country's southern provinces of Guangdong , Guangxi , Yunnan , Guizhou and Hainan .
