Electricity tariffs in Bulgaria will increase by 10% as of July 1, while the natural gas and hot water bills are seen decreasing, the head of the state energy regulator Angel Semerdzhiev said.
The final tariffs for electric power will be influenced by local green energy projects, which will be put into operation by the end of June, including the 50 megawatts photovoltaic park near Parvomay, in the country's south, the state-run Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) quoted Semerdzhiev as saying on Tuesday.
He added that Bulgaria is on schedule to achieve the EU-set target of generating 16% of its energy output from green energy projects by 2020.
Semerdzhiev also confirmed for BNR a statement he made last week about an upcoming cut in the country's natural gas and heating prices but declined to commit to a specific percentage change.
