The United Arab Emirates is not over-producing crude oil and is keeping
its output at 2.6 million barrels a day, its energy minister said Friday.
Iran
Thursday accused other oil nations of producing too much oil as they seek to
replace its sanction-hit crude exports. However, while refusing to respond
directly on the Iranian comments, U.A.E. energy minister Mohamed Bin Dhaen Al
Hamli, said "we are producing at a normal level. Our production is the
same."
U.A.E., a key member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, is
one of the few producers in the Gulf not boosting production to make up for
lost Iranian barrels.
The number given by Al Hamli, who was speaking in an interview on the side of a
World Energy Council conference, is roughly in line with U.A.E. production estimates
in recent months.
