Turkey consumed 20.6 billion kilowatt/hours of electricity in March 2012, according to Turkey's Electricity Transmission Corp. (TEIAS).

Turkey's electricity production also increased 7.9 percent to 20.6 billion kWh in March 2012 when compared to March 2011.
The amount of energy, which was bought from countries like Iran and Azerbaijan and presented to consumption in March 2012, rose 8.3 percent to 21 billion kWh.
Electricity production in Jan-Mar period in 2012 increased 10.1 percent and reached 62 billion kWh when compared to the same period of 2011.
Electricity consumption in Jan-Mar period of 2012 rose 9.4 percent to 62 billion kWh when compared to the same period of 2011.
