Libya
is
expected to resume natural gas exports to
Italy
after
a pipeline was closed at the weekend following fighting between militias in the
north African country.
"I see...[export] production restarting in a couple of days,"
Leonardo Senni, head of the energy department at
Italy
's
industry ministry, told Dow Jones Newswires on the sidelines of an energy
conference in
Rome
.
Libyan gas exports to
Italy
,
which represent about 10% of
Italy
's
needs, were suspended Saturday after local militias clashed near a hydrocarbon
complex jointly owned by Eni SpA (E) and the country's national oil company,
west of
Tripoli
.
Mr. Senni said there is no current "concern" over Italy's gas imports
as storage levels are high, winter is coming to an end and no cold snap is
expected in the next weeks.
