Chinese solar developer Sky Solar Holdings Co Ltd has connected to the grid a 70
MW photovoltaic (PV) plant in Greece. The facility is composed of 40 MW
and 30 MW project packages, which were grid-connected on January 28 and March
12, respectively, Sky Solar said in a statement today.
Sky Solar secured
a 20-year funding and agreed a price of between EUR 0.29 (USD 0.37) and EUR 0.44
per kWh for the electricity produced at the plant.
The Chinese company
began to invest in the Greek PV renewable power business in 2007, in order to
take advantage from the excellent solar resources of the country, with an
average amount of solar irradiation 40% higher than that of Germany.
