Thermal energy output dropped 26.4% on the year to 12.14 billion kilowatts
hour, the statistics institute INS said.
Hydropower production rose 15.9% to 8.5 billion KWh in the first six months of
2013, while nuclear output was up 3.8% to 5.66 billion KWh.
Wind farm output more than doubled to roughly 2.42 billion KWh, from 1.18
billion KWh in the January-June period last year. Wind farm production covered

The country's primary energy resources fell 15.2% on the year to 14.65 million
tons of oil equivalent in the first six months of 2013, the data showed.
Electric energy resources were down 6.9% to 29.05 billion KWh, largely due to a
5.8% decline in production.
Romanian final power consumption reached 24.88 billion KWh in the first half,
down 7.5% from the same period of 2012. Public illumination fell 9.1% on the
year, while household consumption inched down 0.9%.
Electric energy exports declined 12.5% year-on-year to 588.1 million KWh in the
January-June period.
