Eni SpA (E), Italy 's biggest energy company by market value, said Monday daily output at one of Iraq 's biggest oil fields on which it is the lead contractor is at 320,000 barrels.

In a statement, Eni said its chief executive, Paolo Scaroni, met Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki in
Baghdad on Monday and they discussed the potential in the country's hydrocarbon sector and the future opportunities for Eni in Iraq . The statement didn't go into detail.

Eni is the lead contractor on the Zubair project within a consortium that includes Occidental Petroleum Corp. (OXY), Korea Gas Corp. (036460.SE) and Missan Oil Co. The contract was assigned in 2010 and ends in 2035.

In July, Eni said it agreed with
Iraq to lower the production target for Zubair to 850,000 barrels a day from a previous estimate of 1.2 million.
