Cyprus Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Mr Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, is departied for the USA, where during the week he will hold a series of high level meetings in Washington and New York, amongst which a meeting with the US Secretary of Energy, Dr Ernest J. Moniz.
In particular, Mr Lakkotrypis will meet on Tuesday morning, in Washington, with officials from the US Department of State responsible for energy and Eurasian relations issues, while the meeting with Mr Moniz will follow at the Department of Energy.
During his stay in the US capital, Mr Lakkotrypis will hold meetings with members of the Congress of greek and jewish descent, as well as with the Chairman of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Mr Robert Menendez.
Moreover, he will present the prospects of the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone in separate meetings of the German Marshall Fund and the Atlantic Counicl think tanks, while he will also meet with the Executive Council of the American Jewish Committee.
