German utility E.ON SE (EOAN.XE) said Wednesday it has signed a contract
with Qatargas for the supply of liquefied natural gas.
Starting next year, Qatargas will deliver up to 10 billion cubic meters of LNG
to a terminal in
Rotterdam
,
Netherlands
, over
five years. The contract will be priced on a continental gas hub basis.
The agreement "is a major achievement in forging a long-term partnership
with the state of
Qatar
,"
said Christopher Delbrueck, an E.ON executive.
Qatargas
is the largest LNG exporter in the world.
