Thermal energy output decreased 21.6% on the year to 21.2 billion kilowatt
hours, the statistics institute INS said.
Hydropower production rose 22.1% to 12.84 billion KWh in the first 10 months of
2013, while nuclear output was up 1.2% to 9.6 billion KWh.
Wind farm output increased a hefty 87% to 3.32 billion KWh, from a little over
2 billion KWh in January-October of last year. Wind farm production covered
7.9% of the country's electricity output in the first 10 months of 2013.
Romania
's
primary energy resources fell 10.2% on the year to 25.57 million tons of oil
equivalent in the January-October period, the data showed.
Electric energy resources were down 4.9% to 47.8 billion KWh, largely due to a
3.4% decline in production.
Romanian final power consumption reached 41.2 billion KWh in the
January-October period, down 6.3% from the same period of 2012. Public
illumination fell 11% on the year, while household consumption was down 1.1%.
Electric energy exports rose 37.4% on year to 1.33 billion KWh in
January-October.
