Russia may build additional units at the Iranian civilian nuclear facility in Bushehr, the head of Russian nuclear state corporation Rosatom, Sergei Kiriyenko, told Interfax Monday.

head of Russian nuclear state corporation Rosatom, Sergei Kiriyenko, told
Interfax Monday.
Mr. Kiriyenko said the Iranian government is discussing the expansion of
Bushehr--a facility that was begun 35 years ago by
Germany
but
suffered a series of setbacks until it was finished by Rosatom last year--and
that doing so is quite possible.
He added that Rosatom is considering
Iran
as
one of its potential customers for the construction of new nuclear power units.
The facility is located to the east and across Gulf waters from southern
Kuwait
.
