's
government Tuesday said it will go ahead with its plans to build two nuclear
power plants in the country, after preparations slowed down in the wake of the

nuclear disaster in
Japan
.
The first of the two power plants is expected to go online in 2024.
Poland
went
for the nuclear option to better balance its energy production, which is
heavily dependent on highly polluting coal and to conform with the tightened
environmental requirements of the European Union.
The original deadline was 2020 but this was pushed back due to the global
financial crisis and the
Fukushima
disaster.
