The Croatian economy ministry said on Tuesday that some 20 companies have
expressed interest in the data room set up for the Adriatic country's upcoming
offshore oil and gas exploration and production tenders.
Last week, the
ministry said that the tenders will be formally opened on April 2.
The
data room contains existing seismic data on Croatia's portion of the Adriatic
Sea as well as long-offset data acquired recently by Norwegian seismic imaging
services provider Spectrum Geo.
The first company visited the data room
on Tuesday. As of last Friday, six visits had been booked for the next three
weeks, ministry spokesperson Tomislav Cerovec said in an emailed response to a
SeeNews inquiry.
The tenders will last for six months, Cerovec
added.
Croatia has defined 29 blocks for oil and gas exploration in the
Adriatic sea, ranging in size from 1,000 to 1,600 square kilometres.
