Turkish petrochemicals major Petkim Petrokimya Holdings [BIST:PETKM] said it has
contracted the Spanish and Turkish arms of French heavy engineering company
Alstom to install a 51 megawatt (MW) wind farm for 55 million euro ($76
million).
Under the deal, Spain’s Alstom Renovables Espana SLU and
Turkey’s Alstom Power ve Ulasim AS will carry out engineering works, equipment
supply, installation and commissioning of the wind farm, Petkim said in a bourse
filing on Friday.
Petkim expects the wind farm to produce some 200 GWh of
electricity per year.
The 27 MW first phase of the wind farm is planned
to be put in operation in 2015, while the remaining 24 MW of the wind farm is
expected to become operational in 2016, added Petkim.
