Greek engineering company Metka said it has completed an 800 megawatt (MW)
combined cycle power project in Turkey on a turn-key basis for a joint venture
between German power utility RWE and Turkish firm Turcas Guney Elektrik Uretim,
part of energy company Turcas Petrol [BIST:TRCAS].
Metka has signed a
provisional acceptance certificate for the plant, located in the western
province of Denizli, after the successful start of operation of the facility and
the resolution of all pending commercial and technical issues, Metka said in a
statement on Thursday.
The turn-key engineering, procurement and
construction project was carried out by Metka and its wholly-owned Turkish unit
Power Projects Ltd.
The Denizli plant is the second project completed by
Metka in Turkey, following an 870 MW gas-fired combined cycle power plant in the
northern Turkish province of Samsun.
