Turkey’s Privatisation Administration said it has concluded the final
negotiations in the tender for privatisation of five hydropower plants (HPPs) in
Turkey through acquiring the rights to operate the plants, receiving highest
bids totaling $14.45 million (10.56 million euro) from local firms.
The
rights for the five HPPs were tendered in three groups. Hydropower company Metek
Hidro Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret placed the highest bid of $1.85 million for the
rights to operate the Esendal and isiklar HPPs, the privatization authority said
in a statement on Wednesday. Diversified firm Veysi Madencilik Insaat Nakliyat
Petrol Temizlik Sanayi ve Ticaret made the highest offer of $10.3 for the
operational rights of the Karakoy HPP, and Ulke Yatırım Arastirma Gelistirme
Madencilik Insaat ve Elektrik Uretim made the highest bid of $2.3 million for
the Dere and Ivriz HPPs.
