Greek electric utility Public Power Corp SA (PPC) said today it hadreceived
electricity generation licences for 106 MW of wind farms in Rodopi region,
northern Greece.
The licences were granted to PPC’s green energy unit PPC
Renewables SA by the Regulatory Authorityfor Energy (RAE) of Greece.The two
wind projects are calling for a total investment of EUR 127.2 billion (USD
162bn), PPC said.
In July, the Greek power utilitysaid its board had
approved an EUR-180-million investment for the construction of a 150-MW wind
park in Rodopi.PPC’s board also approved a plan to spend EUR 9 million on a
7.5-MW wind project in Crete, as well as an investment of EUR 3.96 million for
the installation of an additional turbine of up to 3.3 MW.
