Bulgarian coal-fired thermal power plant
(TPP) Maritsa Iztok 2 said on Thursday it produced 8.8 billion kWh of
electricity in 2014.
The TPP's electricity output topped 7.8 million MWh
in 2013.
The company produced nearly 4.4 billion KWh in the first half of
2014 and nearly 4.47 billion KWh in the second half, Maritsa Iztok 2 said in a
statement on its website.
The TPP posted its highest monthly output last
year of nearly 965 million KWh in December.
The TPP said the lifespan of
the equipment at its eight units has been extended by 25 years and their
capacity has been increased.
Maritsa Iztok 2, a subsidiary of the
state-run Bulgarian Energy Holding, has total installed capacity of 1,620
MW.
