Romanian gas pipeline operator Transgaz [BSE:TGN] said on Friday it has received a $956,000 (855,400 euro) grant from the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) forpipeline expansion projects

Romanian gas pipeline operator Transgaz [BSE:TGN] said on Friday it has received a $956,000 (855,400 euro) grant from the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) forpipeline expansion projects.The grantwill cover the costs for the assessment, validationand improvement of the feasibility studies for the development on the territory of Romania of the national gas transmission system on the Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary- Austria Connectorproject and for the Black Sea-Shore-Podisor gaspipeline project, Transgaz said in a statement filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

The projects will boost energy security in the region, the Embassy of the United States of America to Bucharest said in a separate statement.
