Turkeys Daily Power Consumption Up 14.% on Sep. 23

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 14% to 754,939 megawatt-hours on Monday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 37,056 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its daily lowest point of 25,099 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production totaled 758, 029 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 14% increase compared to the previous day. The majority of the output came from imported coal plants totaling 201,161 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and lignite plants followed with 176,159 megawatt-hours and 152,443 megawatt-hours, respectively.

Also on Monday, Turkey’s electricity exports amounted to 7,116 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 4,026 megawatt-hours.
