Turkeys Daily Power Consumption Up 2.3% on Dec. 21

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.3% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 997,213 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday

Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,890 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,009 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 996,078 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.27% increase compared to Monday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 37.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19% while hydro plants comprised 12.7%.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,005 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 10,512 megawatt-hours.
