Spanish gas company Molgas has inaugurated Greece's first LCNG station, offering LNG and compressed natural gas (CNG) for vehicles in Thessaloniki, the company announced on July 29 via a LinkedIn post

This project was developed by Blue Grid, a company founded in Athens that became part of the Molgas group in 2022. Blue Grid currently focuses on supplying LNG as a fuel to various industries, road transport and marine transport sectors.

“This launch not only represents the opening of our LNG/bioLNG station network in Greece but also an advance towards modernising the country's heavy vehicle fleet. LNG and biomethane offer more economical and eco-friendly alternatives for transport operators,” Molgas stated.

The company plans to soon launch LNG/bioLNG stations in Athens, Patras, and Ioannina.

Molgas is involved in small-scale downstream LNG and renewable gas supply and distribution in Western Europe. It is owned by funds managed by InfraVia Capital Partners, a Paris-based private equity fund specialising in infrastructure investments. Last year, Molgas acquired a 45% stake in Dutch LNG bunkering firm Titan Clean Fuels.
