Turkey's Investment Support and Promotion Agency and U.K.-listed wind power investor and development Renewable Energy Systems Holdings Ltd., or RES, plan to build wind power generation projects with a capacity of 500 megawatts in Turkey, the Ihlas News Agency, or IHA, reports.

In a statement, the agency said the projects will cost approximately EUR750 million.

The first generating licence should be granted within a next few months, while the projects are expected to take three or four years to complete.

RES Mediterranean Chief Executive Jean-Marc Armitano said Turkey is one of the most important areas for energy sectory growth in the Mediterranean.
