The possible initial public offering of Enel SpA's (ENEL.MI) renewables company in September offers benefits to the Italian utility, said Chief Executive Fulvio Conti Tuesday, adding a decision hasn't been taken yet.

The CEO, talking to reporters on the sidelines of a conference in
Rome , said he hadn't taken a decision yet on whether to head for an Enel Green Power SpA IPO in June or September-October.

Enel is looking to sell a minority stake in the renewables unit as part of its drive to slash net debt by EUR6 billion to EUR45 billion at the end of the year.

Earlier this month, Conti said he hopes to raise EUR4 billion from the sale of a minority stake in Enel Green Power.
