For the seventh consecutive year the “Energy & Development” conference is being organised in Athens, Greece. The conference is convened by Delos Communications SA, publishers of “ENERGIA” magazine and operators of www.energia.gr. The conference has been established over the past years as a major event in Greece for energy policy and business.
This year’s conference will be attended by senior executives, government officials, policy makers, scientists and engineers from all major Greek energy-related companies. A large participation is expected from other countries, especially from European Union countries and by foreign investors. The Greek Minister for Development, Mr Akis Tsochatzopoulos, the Chairman of Greece’s Energy Regulatory Authority, Prof. Pantelis Kapros, the Chairman of the Public Gas Corporation, Mr D. Sotirlis, the Chairman of Hellenic Petroleum, Mr George Moraitis, the Chairman of the TERNA Group of companies, Mr G. Peristeris and several senior officials from Greece’s major oil, gas and electricity companies, will address the conference.
The subjects which will be covered at the conference include: Greece’s expanding role as the energy bridge of SE Europe, Competition in the Greek Electricity Sector and the liberalization of the Greek energy market, the further Development of the Natural Gas market, Refining and Marketing of Petroleum Products, International Oil Market Developments and their impact on the Greek market, Research and Exploration of Hydrocarbons, Co-generation and Renewable Energy Sources, Energy Conservation, Energy Technologies, and Financing and Risk Management of Energy Projects. Internationally recognised energy authorities will travel to Athens to participate at the conference. There will be a small scale exhibition at the conference venue for participating companies, corporations and research institutes to display examples of their work and projects.
