BUDAPEST (Dow Jones)--Russian gas giant OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) and Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Nyrt. (MOL.BU) plan to build joint gas storage facilities in Hungary, Gazprom Deputy Chairman Alexander Medvedev said in an interview in Hungarian national daily Nepszabadsag published Wednesday.
Gazprom and MOL have identified two potential locations for the storage facilities and will conclude technical analyses for the sites and pipeline construction by March, Medvedev said.
He also said the extension of the South Stream gas pipeline will "by all means" go through Hungary regardless whether it will be built across Romania or Serbia
